"Equality is equality. Let’s work together to build a bright future for everyone."
- Khaliah Fitchette

Criminal Justice

Khaliah is a proud leader and advocate for Redesign The Police and reforming our criminal justice system. Our current systems were built on a foundation of slavery and punishment. Let's redistribute resources to foster growth.

Khaliah values our police officers and aims to create a system where officers are respected, communities are served, and everyone feels safe. Khaliah will partner with local precincts to create a more just and equitable society.

Climate Change

If we want to save our planet, we have to vote for change on November 3rd. We are in the midst of a climate change crisis and Khaliah fully supports the Green New Deal.

It is our duty to pass legislation that protects our environment and our collective futures. Climate change will impact every aspect of our lives. Having strong leaders who believe in science will smooth the transition to 100% renewable energy.

Economic Inequality

Khaliah supports The Recognizing Poverty Act. The best way to combat economic inequality is to identify underpaid families and create minimum living wages for all. We must transition to a better economy.

Let's reconstruct communities of color. Khaliah supports free state school and canceling of student debt for all. This plan would cut the racial wealth gap for young Black Americans by more than 50%, encouraging financial success.

Education

If public education is the backbone of our democracy, it is no shock that we are in trouble. Khaliah is a strong supporter of the public school system and recognizes the flaws within our current establishment.

We must increase public school funding in inner-cities, increase teacher's salaries, and encourage school choice for parents who want equal access to opportunity for their children.

Healthcare

No one should avoid medical treatment because they are afraid they cannot afford it, or will be treated differently. Providing quality healthcare for all is a human right.

Addressing black maternal mortality rates and ensuring equitable care for everyone is a top priority for Khaliah. Every family deserves healthcare and a government they can depend on. Especially during COVID-19.

Housing

Khaliah will work to end homelessness and supports The Place to Prosper Act ensuring stable, safe, affordable housing for all.

Khaliah believes in improving housing options and regulating rent by corporate landlords. Future policies will include tax credits that reimburse landlords for improving the communities they inhabit. Khaliah fully supports home ownership initiatives for first-time buyers.

Immigration

All immigrants have human rights and we must set up humane immigration policy. Too many families are worried that they will be torn apart by Trump’s sweeping ICE raids or locked out of the country by another Muslim Ban.

No family deserves to live in fear. Khaliah advocates for abolishing ICE, reforming the immigration system, and creating a clear path to citizenship for DACA recipients.

Women’s Rights

We should all be feminists. Khaliah supports equal pay, universal access to reproductive healthcare, and the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment. Khaliah is an advocate for women’s rights and publicly supports the #MeToo movement.

Khaliah knows protecting women’s rights to opportunity and healthcare paves the path to upward mobility for working families everywhere.

Small Business

Khaliah has helped countless families achieve economic self-sufficiency by investing in small businesses. Let's finally end paycheck to paycheck.

Small businesses create jobs, improve property value, and increase a sense of ownership within communities. Let's regulate commercial rental prices and create tax incentives for local businesses. A thriving economy requires small businesses to push forward.
