ISSUES

Climate Change

If we want to save our planet, we have to vote for change on November 3rd. We are in the midst of a climate change crisis and Khaliah fully supports the Green New Deal.

It is our duty to pass legislation that protects our environment and our collective futures. Climate change will impact every aspect of our lives. Having strong leaders who believe in science will smooth the transition to 100% renewable energy.

Criminal Justice

Khaliah is a proud leader and advocate for Redesign The Police and reforming our criminal justice system. Our current systems were built on a foundation of slavery and punishment. Let's redistribute resources to foster growth.

Khaliah values our police officers and aims to create a system where officers are respected, communities are served, and everyone feels safe. Khaliah will partner with local precincts to create a more just and equitable society.

Economic Inequality

Khaliah supports The Recognizing Poverty Act. The best way to combat economic inequality is to identify underpaid families and create minimum living wages for all. We must transition to a better economy.

Let's reconstruct communities of color. Khaliah supports free state school and canceling of student debt for all. This plan would cut the racial wealth gap for young Black Americans by more than 50%, encouraging financial success.

The Space Image

Advocating for police reform and social equality in our communities since 2010.

In 2010, Khaliah experienced the effects of police brutality when she was an Honors high school student illegally detained by the Newark police department.

Khaliah’s cell phone footage was deleted by Newark police officers and her lawsuit, represented by the ACLU, resulted in officer training affirming citizens' rights to record police officers. The next time you pull out your cellphone, remember that Khaliah Fitchette defended your right to film and fought for the first amendment before she was even old enough to vote.

Khaliah is a strong advocate for Redesign The Police and understands the deep-rooted effects of poverty and racism in today’s society. Let’s reinvest in our communities and redesign the police. NJ-10, let's be fueled by progress. Elect Khaliah Fitchette be your advocate in Congress.
